Caregiver Education Program
Our classes are comprised of carefully curated, current, evidence-based information and advice from leading experts in the field of child development. They cover a wide variety of topics relevant to caring for children of all ages. Each lesson provides clear, simple developmental information, activity ideas, and concrete examples of how to incorporate this information into everyday interactions between caregivers and children.
For all enquiries and scheduling, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
No upcoming workshops scheduled. Please check back soon for updates.
Goals and Philosophy
Our goal is to elevate the quality of care children receive and provide educational opportunities for those who work with children. Our age specific class format ensures that the information presented is relevant and applicable to a caregiver’s current position and responsibilities. Instead of teaching strict protocols or a providing a step-by-step instruction manual, we aim to provide information and ideas that will allow caregivers to provide the best care possible.
Our education and training classes have been designed to:
- Instill a general understanding of child development that can be drawn on to effectively support and nurture children’s development
- Present practical ideas for incorporating this knowledge into daily care
- Provide caregivers with a tool box full of evidence-based information, proven strategies, and activity ideas
- Proactively equip nannies with strategies for preventing (and handling) challenges that will inevitably arise
- Debunk old wives’ tales and commonly held (yet ineffective, outdated, or detrimental) theories and approaches to handling common challenges and transitions.
- Be a source of fresh game, activity, craft, and toy ideas that are not only fun, but also benefit a child’s development
- Respect that each child is unique and there is no “one size fits all” approach that is applicable to all children, families, or caregivers
Heading up our Caregiver Education and Training services is Ashley Mundt, M.Ed., CCLS. Ashley has a strong academic background and years of hands on experience working with children and families in private and group settings. She received both a B.A. in Sociology and Youth and Human Services from Pepperdine University and an M.Ed. in Applied Child Studies from Vanderbilt. Her training as a Certified Child Life Specialist enables her to support and guide children and families during medical interventions, chronic illness, and family/home crisis situations. Although she has worked in many different settings throughout her career (including homes, schools, camps, and hospitals), her passion (and bulk of experience) is working directly with families in private homes. Over the past 15 years, she has worked as a highly sought after nanny, parent educator, childcare consultant, and trained caregivers within private home settings. Ashley's background of extensive developmental education and hands on experience in luxury homes puts her in a unique position to understand what families, caregivers, and (most importantly) children need and help ensure those needs are met.
Our group classes are designed to provide an easily accessible way for all caregivers to acquire a general understanding of child development and raise the level of care they provide. Additionally, we strive to provide innovative and fresh ideas for games, activities, and crafts that nurture development and keep little ones of all ages busy. In order to keep information relevant to the current needs of a caregiver, all classes focus on development or topics for a limited age span.
Our classes and workshops are not meant to teach strict protocols or a provided a step-by-step guide to caring for children. We respect that each child is unique and there is no “one size fits all” approach that is applicable to all children, families, or caregivers. Instead of an instruction manual for childcare, we want to provide caregivers with a tool box full of information, proven strategies, and activity ideas that they can draw on to best support and nurture children’s development as well as handle challenges that will inevitably arise.
