The hotel has three restaurants, a spa, fitness center, and heated indoor pool with panoramic views of Hong Kong’s stunning skyline. Don’t miss the hotel’s Swiss restaurant, Chesa–the whole family will enjoy their menu of fondue, raclette, sausages, and more in a cozy and relaxed environment. The hotel is also very well known for its opulent daily teatime so make time to stop in between 2pm and 6pm to enjoy or ask about the hotel’s exclusive “Fly and Tea” which features a private 18 minute helicopter tour followed by teatime. Food

It wouldn’t be a visit to Hong Kong without Dim Sum. For vegetarians, we suggest LockCha Teahouse; set within the lush Hong Kong Park, the restaurant offers traditional tea service and vegetarian dim sum in a stunning colonial-era building. For more traditional offerings, including pork and shrimp dumplings, try the casual Michelin starred TimHoWan.

There will likely be a wait, but the experience is well worth it; consider skipping the line, ordering takeout, and eating it at a nearby picnic table instead. For dinner, indulge in a Chinese fine dining experience at Yan Toh Heen; tucked within the InterContinental Hotel, this Michelin-starred Cantonese restaurant serves elevated classics like wok-fried wagyu and duck liver, braised lobster and black truffle, and sea cucumber with shrimp roe.

Art

We suggest taking a few hours to visit the Hong Kong Museum of Art. The collection includes over 17,000 objects and hosts both permanent exhibitions of their collection, as well as visiting show of both contemporary and historic art.

We love the Chih Lo Lou Collection of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy, as well as the striking collection of works by Wu Guanzhong (1919-2010). While comprehensive, the museum is small enough that you can see the majority of it in just a few hours.

Outdoors

Many guidebooks will tell recommend starting the day at Victoria Peak and there’s a reason for that: the highest point in Hong Kong offers spectacular views of the city, Victoria Harbour, and beyond. Take the historic tram (opened in 1888) to the top to find a 360-degree observation platform, as well as several restaurants with outstanding views. If you’d prefer to avoid Victoria Peak’s crowds or would like to spend some time outdoors, consider Lantau Peak, the second highest peak in Hong Kong. There are several hiking trails to reach the summit to enjoy the incredible views.

Family Fun

Book a VIP premium tour at Hong Kong’s Ocean Park, a theme park along with an oceanarium and marine mammal park. The premium tour includes a private tour guide, personalized itinerary, the ability to cut the line for attractions, and options for up close encounters with the animals, including penguins, dolphins, or seals.

Transportation

Getting around Hong Kong is fairly simple–the subway, ferry, the tramways, and taxis are all relatively easy to use and quite accessible. As with any new destination, we recommend making good use of your hotel’s concierge –most will provide not only the quickest route but also cards with the destination printed on them in Chinese, in case you find yourself with a taxi driver who doesn’t speak English (though the majority do!).
