Waterfront Michelin-Starred Restaurants
This week, we are sharing some of our favorite Michelin-starred restaurants where spectacular food is matched by equally incredible waterfront views.
La Chèvre d’Or, Èze, France
Set inside a gorgeous 5-star hotel on the French Riviera, this two-Michelin-starred restaurant offers impeccable views of the sea, as well as fresh and innovative flavors. We suggest the Mediterranean Mussels, accompanied by either the artichoke or the white asparagus, and a chilled bottle of Sancerre or other French white wine.
Il Pellicano, Porto Ercole, Italy
The menu at this one-Michelin-starred restaurant is ever-changing; we suggest relying on your waiter to guide you (although you can’t go wrong). Choose a table on the terrace to enjoy stunning views, top-notch service, and fresh seafood and local produce.
The River Café, Brooklyn, New York
Though not set on the Mediterranean, the River Café in New York City still offers spectacular views of the New York skyline and the Statue of Liberty. Chef Brad Steelman’s menu features twists on American favorites. We especially recommend the melon salad and the Dover sole with sunchoke purée.
The Waterside Inn, Bray, UK
Set on a charming bank of the Thames, this restaurant received three Michelin stars for the 40th year in a row this year, a distinction only ever held by a handful of other restaurants. For a celebratory occasion here, you might start with the caviar service then move on to seared Orkney scallops followed by open ravioli with a medley of courgettes, burrata cheese, lightly smoked aubergine, and toasted hazelnut. Save room for the dessert taster to finish— they offer a sampling of six Alain Roux desserts. If you must choose just one, we’d suggest the meringue teardrop with tropical fruits, pineapple and Sichuan pepper sorbet, perfect for a summer dessert.
