Top Golf Courses Around the World
Father’s Day is this Sunday, June 16. Whether you want to travel far and wide, enjoy spectacular views, or find a family-friendly retreat (with luxury amenities, of course), there should be something for every golf-lover on this list. Happy Father’s Day!
Often referred to as the “Home of Golf,” St Andrew’s Links has to be high on the list of any discerning golfer. This historic property offers 7 stunning courses, several dining options, and incredible views. While all the courses are impeccable, The Old Course is the one that cannot be missed; the course dates back to the early 15th century, making it one of the oldest golf courses in the world. They offer many packages that make great gifts – but be sure to choose carefully as many apply only to specific courses on site. It also has a wonderful clubhouse, pro shops, practice areas, and a golf school.
Pebble Beach Golf Links, California
This 18-hole course has hosted six U.S. opens, more than any other course over the last 50 years, and is on the schedule to host again in 2027, 2032, 2037 and 2044. The dramatic coastline views look out onto Carmel Bay and the Pacific Ocean while the perfectly tended to grass makes for the perfect place to play. In addition, the property boasts a spa, overnight accommodations, an award-winning restaurant, and a tap room.
Designed by Kyle Phillips, renowned golf course designer, Yas Links has gorgeous city and water views, stunning architecture, excellent food (and a wonderful bar), and staff who truly anticipate your needs.
Opened in 1988, Emirates Golf Club has 36 holes and was the first grass golf course in the Middle East. The course design and views are top notch. Head out in the evening to enjoy a spectacular experience on the floodlit driving range; it’s a truly special experience you can’t replicate at other courses. The state-of-the-art property has a mix of fine and casual dining options, a gym, tennis, squash, and a swimming pool, as well as villa accommodations.
Port Royal Golf Course, Bermuda
Bermuda is a beloved golf destination; most sources state that Bermuda has more golf courses per capita than any other country in the world. While there are many excellent courses on the island, one of our favorites is Port Royal in Southampton. Play with views of the crystal clear water. On the other side of the island in Tucker’s Town, Mid-Ocean Golf Club would be a close second for spectacular golf views in Bermuda.
Mohonk Mountain House, New York
For a family-friendly golf getaway, we love Mohonk Mountain House in upstate New York. The 9-hole course, set among a gorgeous dense forest, is a beautiful place to enjoy excellent golf amenities, and make sure there is something for the whole family. Set in the Hudson Valley not far from New York City, the resort includes 85 miles of nature trails, rock climbing, horseback riding, tennis, golf, kayaking, canoeing, and more. Special summer events include outdoor movie nights, lakeside barbecues, family dance parties, carriage rides, and campfire nights.
