    A live-in housekeeper will provide all the same services as a live-out housekeeper but will typically have private accommodations on the property. Whilst a live-in housekeeper does typically offer a bit more flexibility with hours and on-call needs, it is important to remember that live-in employees should still have uninterrupted time off and be paid for overtime work.

In estates with a large staff, there is typically a specialist in the role of laundress; this person is specifically skilled in the care of fine garments and will handle all couture care, as well as tailoring garments as needed.
